Activities
Extra Curricular Activities:
Student Council-- I was in Student Council as its a great way to have an opinion of what goes on in our school. We organized many school events like school dances.
Environmental Club-- I was in Environmental Club for 3 years. We worked at helping out the community like we planted a garden at the Hatley Library and we picked up trash.
Jazz Choir-- I was in Jazz Choir because I loved singing and this was an extra thing we could all be apart of.
Journalism Club-- At Hatley Elementary, I was in Journalism Club for two years and we wrote articles in the Everest Herald.
GEMS-- I was in GEMS for 2 years as it helped us learn more about Earth and its environment.
Athletics:
Cross Country-- I have participated in Cross Country for the past 3 years and plan to continue all throughout High School.
Track-- I was in track this last spring and hope to continue this throughout my high school career.
Soccer-- I just finished my 9th year playing soccer for the Everest Youth Soccer League.
Archery-- I have competed in archery at Gander Mountain for the past five years.
Volunteering/Community Service:
Nursing Homes-- My mom works at a nursing home and my sister and I go there sometimes to help with the residents.
Donations-- We always bring our unused clothes and furniture to Goodwill. And we also always donate food items for different programs, like Payton's Promise and our churches food bank.
Cheer leading-- My Grandma is a cheer leading coach and every year we help with their Pig roast and Haunted House.
Service Learning:
My experience with service learning is that every year in elementary school we would rake leaves for the elderly. We also always participated in many food drives to give back to the community.
Leadership:
My experience with leadership is that in Cross Country, the coaches rely on me as a leader for the younger kids and to make sure they understand what we are doing. This helps me prepare for high school and my job as I hope to become a captain for Cross and a plant manager, for my job when I am older.
Leisure:
In my free time I like to read, spend time with my friends, and run. I love to read as it makes you stronger in that department and the book can take you to a different world. I like to spend time with my friends as we are always doing something fun and interesting. But mainly, I love to run as it relives stress and makes me faster for Cross Country.
